Girls Trip/ Boys Trip

Liza Baker, Lisa, Lucy Clay and I took a fantastic trip to Destin recently. It was so nice to get out of Tallahassee for a few days and relax, sit by the pool, eat delicious beach food and SHOP!! It was Liza Baker's first "Girls Weekend" - the first of many, I am sure. We had no agenda and no concept of time....it was perfect! LB is a great shopping partner and of course, her Godmother Aunt Li is the EXPERT and is teaching her to master the art of outlet mall shopping and retail therapy at a very early age. Liza Baker got to wear her tutu swimsuit...love it! I am so grateful to Lisa and Lucy Clay for a WONDERFUL get-a-way!

While we were in Destin, the men took off to the beach at St.Theresa and had a great time as well. Owen went sailing for the first time and I have to tell you, I was a nervous wreck about him being on the boat at first!! I was so excited, though, to hear that he had an awesome time! Baker said he had so much fun! There were even dolphins within arms reach of the boat (BIG Fish he says) and I can just see Owen now loving it! They even taught him to say "I'm on a Boat!" I think that the dads had a good time out on the beach by the fire when the kiddos went to bed. I wish they had taken a camera!!

I am sure this will be the first of many girls/boys weekends!

Very Big Day!

I was a big day in the Wright house yesterday (Well, evening I should say). First off - Owen peed in the potty!!!! I am not going to start formally potty training him until about 2 weeks. We have a bit of traveling to do and I want to wait until he is at home with me everyday. We have been putting him on the potty periodically before bath just to get him acclimated to it. Last night, when Baker was running his bath, he did it!!! He was SO PROUD! I was in the kitchen and I heard lots of noise and clapping and praise in the bathroom so I knew he had been successful! He immediately said "YEAH! Good boy, Owen! I want Jelly Beans please!"

Also, Liza Baker slept through the night - well, over 7 hours. I fed her at almost midnight and Baker had to wake her after 7am to feed her. After he fed her she went right back to sleep. I am so proud of her!! She didn't ask for Jelly Beans :-)

Boys will be boys!

I think it's so cool that Owen is ALL BOY!! Sometimes, it's gross but funny! This is how I found him outside the other day when I was getting our things and Liza Baker out of the car and into the house....

He was leaning over like a dog drinking the water from the rain puddle in the driveway...YUK!

My Litte Diva

Monday I took Liza Baker for her 8 week check up....8weeks WOW!!! I actually took her a few days early because I was concerned about reflux...which she has. However the spitting up IS NOT affecting her ability to thrive! She was 11 pounds and 21.5 inches. Even Diva's like to overeat! Her pediatrician told me "...and it's fine if you want to cut back on her feedings some." Was she trying to tell me my angel is PLUMP??? Everybody loves cheeky baby right? I know we could eat her up!

Peanuts and Dumplings

A good friend posed a great question today....

Why do we nickname our kids after foods?? Owen is my Peanut and always will be. He is going to HATE me one day for it! Liza Baker has been called everything from a Peanut Girl to a Dumplin'. Why do we do this??

Photos of our little gal

Here are some photos of Liza Baker since she arrived to bless our family.

And then there were four...

Maridith - I hope you are proud of me! I have FINALLY gotten around to updating our blogspot! It's been FOREVER since I updated our page and so much has happened! Our family has grown. Our daughter, Elizabeth Baker Wright "Liza Baker" was born March 25 of this year and she is amazing! Owen, now 27months old, is the coolest big brother. Liza Baker weighed 6lbs, 13oz and was 19inches long. She came early, in my 37th week, just like Owen did. I am so blessed to have such a beautiful family! Baker continues to work very hard with BMC and I am very fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom/wife now. I am still on maternity leave with Liza Baker but after next week will have both of my babies at home with me. Owen has been attending an amazing pre-school this past year, which we will miss, and after the summer will start a 3-day a week morning program. Owen calls his sister "Isa." I love it when he wakes up or comes home and immediately looks for her saying things like "Where's Isa? There she is...there's my sister!"

My goal with this blog is to journal and document some of the fun and interesting moments in our lives and to help keep in touch with our family and friends. My girlfriends have been very good at keeping up with their blogs and I was GREAT at it with Owen. NOW the test is to keep up with it. Wish me luck....
